Now i know its bad and we can not drive in it because of idiot drivers, but how the Scandinavians must laugh at us Brits, the country has come to a complete standstill with no trains, buses or tubes?? why because we have had the annual day of snow.
I have been to Finland, Sweden and Norway in the winter and this is a mere sparrows cough to them, have you ever seen the sea frozen, looks like a field with small hillocks that used to be waves on the shore.
-20 below, with snow drifts 10 feet high and they all went along with business as usual.
Oh the Brits are such a hardy lot !! role on 28 C in the summer so hot!!

To be fair, when snow like this is something you can expect for a large part of the winter months, it makes sense to invest in what is required to deal with it.
When, as is the case here now, it's a one day every few years thing, maybe it isn't worth all that heavy investment to deal with it, and it's better just to write off that day.
